The Villages of Sally Creek site was part of the Oxford Regional Center, a hospital that existed since the turn of the Century.
Announcement of it's closing in the 1990's left the site vacant . The City of Woodstock undertook a planning review of the potential reuse of the site. This included a survey of local residents as to how the residents of Woodstock would like to see the site redeveloped. A very strong reply from local residents indicated the preferred reuse of the lands was for seniors housing. The site now known as The Villages of Sally Creek was acquired by two local visionaries Cliff Zaluski and David Lowes in the early 2000's. Environmental Studies, Municipal Engineering Design and Land Use Studies including a Golf Course were undertaken before Draft Plan of Subdivision Approval was granted by the County of Oxford in October 2001.
To date The Villages of Sally Creek has been successful in offering outstanding Adult Lifestyle & Conventional Housing opportunities coupled with one of Ontario's premiere golf courses in Sally Creek Golf Club. |
